Luke, Founder and Managing Director, started WB Electrical and Security Solutions (WBESS) on his own.
His vision was to establish a company that offers the same breadth and quality as large companies, but with exemplary personal customer service and an outstanding culture of diversity and respect for staff.
Luke quickly established a robust client base due to his speed, his can-do attitude and his down-to-earth approach to problem-solving. After just one year, the reputation of WBESS had grown beyond the Midlands so Luke partnered with a small trusted subcontractor, took on an apprentice, and began driving around 70,000 miles per year to deliver commercial and residential solutions around the UK. Since then, the business has grown year on year and the team has expanded to meet the ever-growing demand, including specialist solutions for customers who want to benefit from the very latest technology.
Today, WBESS operates from its head office in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, providing best practice project management and expertise, while still delivering the personal customer service on which the company has been built.

Luke Brecknell
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Luke is responsible for the fast-response, straight-up, can-do standards on which the WBESS reputation has been built. He's high-energy, high-ambition, high-expertise with no fuss, no drama, no negativity, no over-inflated prices.
Luke established his career as a one-man-band subcontractor, before turning his vision for WBESS into a reality. As well as having the determination and resilience to drive the consistent growth of the business, he has a young family and is overseeing a major house remodelling and extension.
As a perfectionist, Luke's objective is to not only get the job done right, but to ensure the satisfaction of all his customers from start to finish.
I'm really passionate in everything I do, and I genuinely consider WBESS 'one of my babies'.
I take pride in building a business where expertise and diversity are valued, while we nurture the next generation through apprenticeships.

Kerry Brecknell
HR & OFFICE MANAGER
Kerry, our HR and Office Manager, is a powerhouse of organisation. After a long and successful career within the Financial Services sector, leading several teams, she made the move to WBESS a couple of years ago. Alongside husband Luke, she's most proud of setting up the new office for the Administration and Leadership Team at WBESS.
With a passion for people, it’s no surprise Kerry’s focus is customer and employee excellence.
Always on the lookout for new ways of working, another goal for Kerry is making sure WBESS is one of the best out there!
We love bringing the team together, it's a great way to see how we're all doing and review how it's going as a business, learning what we can do to be even better. We always make sure our team are recognised for their hard work.
Jerome James
OPERATIONS MANAGER
After completing his apprenticeship many years ago, Jerome broadened his knowledge in the commercial and industrial sectors working on installs and testing to EV and renewable energy. Over the years his professional journey took him all over the country, until he was approached by Luke., who immediately saw his potential.
With over 10 years of experience in the electrical industry across different sectors, Jerome’s supervisory and leadership skills came in useful when he joined WBESS. As the business has grown, Jerome has recently stepped into his Operations role,, where he is closely supporting Luke and leading a team of Engineers. A fantastic opportunity for both Jerome and WBESS.

My goal is for WBESS to be the first on everybody’s list when it comes to electrical services.
I really enjoy working here. We’re more than just colleagues, we’re like a family, where everyone is appreciated and valued.

I'm just starting the second year of my apprenticeship working with WBESS.
Luke and the team have been incredibly supportive throughout, making sure I've learned lots of new skills while working here and alongside the other engineers.
